How to check whether a Samsung LCD has SPVA panel from service menu?PVA

but I couldn't understand how to make out whether it has SPVA from the service menu?

Well go to the service menu by quickly pressing "Info,Menu,Mute,power" during standby.

There you can see the "Type" note down the code next to it and post it here,for eg in the above image the panel used is a AMVA denoted by "L".

You can't lodge a complain for the type of panel received, unless you see severe clouding or have dead pixels .

Just enjoy your television.

yes,that's right soumya ...there are certain rules & clauses to fulfil in order to seek panel replacements ..as adder pointed out! Alternatively u can follow my example here,as i was also plagued by panel lottery & was much unsatisfied with my panel & my tv. As such & i did register complaints to Samsung locally & to the India H.Q,little knowing whether this could be any valid ground for panel or tv replacement.They offered me a Panel replacement to SPVA SQ01 samsung royal panel,after scanning pan india to get my piece or alternatively they offered me a FULL money refund after using my tv after abt 2 months,...i opted for the latter!

In all i can say that Samsung ppls have professional(in a good sense),quite sympathetic & understanding to my case, consistent throughout & refunded my money with NO question asked! Inspite of panel lottery strategies,that completely pissed me out initially & me having failed that,but after having gone through the whole mile,i.e the samsung ass,i can say that they r currently in my good books ,so much so that i brought a samsung pdp latter on & currently enjoying it with no qualms!

So Samsung Happy i'M!....Hope u be too!

last week i bought a samsung 32d5000 for my uncle.when i see the sticker behind the panel version.it is CN.
the picture quality is not good when compared to my LG 42ld460.the connection is same for both the tv i.e den STB.
i planned to buy samsung 40d5500.know i am very confused to go for samsung models.

Well in bangalore i had seen D5500 in three showrooms and all had AMVA panel which isn't to bad.

well in case i will see a demo of d5500.
and one thing the new inputs in samsung is bad. because if i connect STB i.e RYW cable. then there is no input for DVD connection. there will be blue. red and white connection only i.e part of component connection. am i right here..? in that case we have to invest in getting a new DVD player with HDMI OUT.:-X

Well i think most new tvs in order to save cost include a dual use input which can either be used for component or composite.

So you could get a STB with HDMI out or get a DVD player with HDMI.

My TV is advertised as 100 Hz but why is there 6 mentioned which corresponds to 60 Hz?

Well your tv doesn't have a native 100hz panel,it however does have scanning backlight which samsung says is equal to 100hz.

The panel you have is of SMVA tech made by chunghwa pictures.

Which unfortunately is inferior in some parameters to some other techs like SPVA and AMVA.
