How to play movies from pc to Sony W700 B

I have a computer and a Sony W700B tv. I want to know how can I watch movies or listen to music on my TV from my computer ??

I have a wifi internet connection.

Hello,

Yrs sure you can do that. I've w670 and I did that. But it's kind of little tricky. You can stream from windows media player only if you are running on windows. There is one more commercial sw called mezzmo. It works well without any hassle. With WMP you have fiddle around many settings and tweak.

BDW, why do you prefer to Stan from PC rather than USB ?

or best you can connect TV with PC through HDMI cable

@ Mukunthaaraja / Falcon : Thank you for your replies. Its a pain to keep transferring particular movies / music always to the pen drive so I would like to scan something from a particular pc folder . Also hard disk takes to long to read.

If S-Video connection is in your PC and TV, video can be streamed and for audio use the head phone 3.5mm out to 3.5mm input in TV. Earlier I used to follow this method for watching the movie files from my PC to TV

how is your tv display connected to your pc right now?

if not, you need to do that first using hdmi cable its the simplest way

or get a media player first if want to use wifi for same

you can't use windows media player if using a media player using wifi it uses its own media player

I tried using Homestream but it does not show my movies even after setting it up as per the directions.

Guess I have to make do with transferring stuff to the pen drive only.

Use a HDMI Cable man !!! Easiest and best way to get stuff across on to a Telly...

There is a software called Plex media server. Install it on PC start the app select the folder you want to be streamed.

Then on TV open the connected devices I.e. dlna app and u will see the PC name and there in the folder u have all videos which can be played on it.

Have tested this on my Sony w850a and worked pretty well.

Connect the PC to the TV with a HDMI cable. That's how I do it.
