Hello All,
I have purchased Samsung 32D5000 LED tv and quite happy with the PQ and the formats supported via USB.Can anyone help me on how to play subtitles (.srt file) for the movies played via USB.

Thanks,
Mr Patnayak

I haven't used the USB-in of my Sammy yet, but normally all you need to do is to make sure that the name of the folder containing the files and the file names of the video file and the subtitle file (.srt) are the same. This should get the subtitles to play automatically (unless subtitles have been turned off in the TV's media player via some menu).

hi

Samsung plays the srt files, make sure that your video file and srt files have same name.. and try keeping them in the same folder..

You can try.. clicking Center Button( Navigation buttons) of the remote while playing the movie, you see the Menu Bar below, there you should see the Subtitle button.. check if its enabled....if yes then try to turn on the sub titles .. else. no luck.

try downloading the srt files on web and try.. it..

Thank you All for your suggestions.Actually remaning the folder ,movie file and subtitle file (.srt) with the same name plays subtitles smoothly on TV.

Hi all Dear.. yes .. i do it right now.:yahoo: just rename the file < mkv or.... > and your subtitle to word's that dose not have <, . > dot ... i hope you undrestanding me .. for EX.. men.in,black or men-in-black dose not support with sub title you should change it exaclly to men in back.mkv and men in balck.srt..

hope you can see and done it..

that did't work for me even though i did everything you say, but then i changed the subs file from (.srt) to (.sub) and solved the problem. now the subs work perfectly

ps. im new to this forum and i don't know if anybody can see this. hope it helps..

If you source videos are in .mp4 or .avi format, try .mkv format for your movies. It has subtitles' file as well as various audio files (Dual or triple audio) embedded into it. No need for external file linkage. Just download the movie of your choice and start watching. Only drawback is the memory size becomes larger. Or download a subtitle file in SRT format and insert subtitles permanently to videos for watching on Samsung TV.
