Why do you want a fan cooled phenom processor over passive cooled like Atom or AMD Fusion ?? Also tt would be an overkill for HTPC and the noise that Phenom makes is phenomenal .... ! I have this similar kind of processor , Phenom 2 x4 BE and the noise it generated is driving me nuts. If the use is only for media it is always better to use a passive cooled CPU and load it with RAM. Also make sure that the cabinet can accept a full PCI card.
