Hunting For Plasma Over LED

Panasonic tv used to come as zt better than VT better than gt better than st. St 30 is also some generations older. The last great pana series to be released in india in 2013 was st60 series. The best ones zt60 vt60 gt60 were not released in india before they closed shop to these great plasmas.

Some of the tips for buying used TVs that I could think of:

1) Make sure that all the screws look untouched or unscrewed.
2) Before you go to the sellers place, make sure you know how to check usage hours.
3) Check whether the TV was wall mounted or stand mounted.
4) Are there kids in the house? Chances of abuse are more.
5) Ask owner for service history. Some are honest and some are not.
6) I have found that most people are honest about it but still watch out for the liars.
7) Does the owner have user manual, carton, wall mount, stand and accessories etc. Sure sign if these things are missing that the TV might be abused.
8) I bought it from a Nambian student who was leaving the country. Find out why they are selling it. Might give you a clue.
9) What is the TV used for? Through local cable? dish? Blu ray only? etc.
10) How does the remote look? A tell tale sign of abuse is a bad remote.
11) With the TV in off position, go to the side and see, you can see what the owner has watched mostly. I am talking burn ins etc.

These are some things that I could think of in 1 minute. I am sure others can add on to it.

I am thankful to all of you guys for filling me with every precious information.I am still searching and trying to get 50" plasma. So far I have received 42" plasma TVs.What could probably be the price for a good 42" & 50" plasma TV today?? Do you you think 50K & 70K could have been justifiable for a new FHD, 3D plasma tv??

70k for a 50gt50 or 50st60 would be great. I saw an add on olx where someone had the same for 50k. The 50gt50 was 1,36000 which I had purchased on a Diwali discount for 112000 with free laser mfd.

So far I only got following quotations:

Panasonic P50ST30D: 50K (including installation & 1 year Brand Warranty)
Samsung PS51F5500AR: 73K (including installation & 1 year Brand Warranty)

How does these look??

Hey Everyone!

I got my eye on Panasonic P42ST30D (with 1 year warranty) for 50K.However, i would still negotiate for atleast 45K on it.If deal breaks out, I would still be happy with it.Wish me Luck!!!:)

Samsung PS51F5500 is out of options now, as the seller doesn't deliver to Delhi or Noida.
However I still got following Deals in hand:

1. Panasonic P42GT20D: 50K (including installation & 1 year Brand Warranty)
2. Panasonic P42ST30D: 50K (including installation & 1 year Brand Warranty)

Please advice if these models are good for Full HD viewing and regular SD channels??
I understand that 1 year warranty might not be very helpful in case of Plasma TV now, however keeping that in mind, what could be the negotiable deal for above two???

Thanks in Advance!!!

Spending 50K for 5 year old models is a big risk. There is chances of failure more if system is not used since a long time. I will suggest not to go for this despite the fact that these are very good systems.

Thats the most honest and unbeatable fact that I am still not able to defeat. That is why, I am keeping my one eye open towards these LED TVs:

1. Vu (50) 127 cm Iconium UHD 4K Smart TV
LEDN50K310X3D

2. Vu Premium Smart (50) 127 cm Full HD LED TV
LEDH50K311

However, I havn't seen any shop displaying these two running in there stores. Is there a place or store where I could get a demo of these two new babies in town.

Also, could someone give their feedback of these two models on following front:
1. How good these two are in delivering regular SD channels?
2. Being a 4k compatible, does Iconium series make any substantial difference in displaying 1080p HD videos?? OR is it just like LEDH50K311 on HD front??

Since your location is Delhi, just googled and found out a page that lists VU being present in Saket -
Location: Saket
Website: Vu Televisions
Phone Number: 011-41077879/41077880

Try the above number.

Also I saw a pamphlet in the newspaper over the weekend for a store in either TGIP or Mall of India in Noida where VU TVs were up for sale. So surely they must be having them on display.

Hi
There is a shop in Mall of India in noida that has premium samrt VU tv on display. It is in basement 1 (where big bazaar is there though on opposite side)

Take your own video/data as they didnt have the DTH connection when i checked it 1 month back..

Thanks Deeps & Jsanand for the tips!

I followed yor tips and could only find following tv on display there:

. Vu Premium Smart (50) 127 cm Full HD LED TV
LEDH50K311

Priced at 39900.

That shop doesn't have latest or variety of Models on display.I guess they are just trying to mint out of 2015 models, that too at not so great price. The salesman kept pushing me to take look at some Videocon FHD models (priced almost 52000) as it has inbuilt wifi and STB box and comes with 6monts Videocon DTH full hd pack.

I would still like to test VU Iconium for once before signing any deal.
Don't know if there's any other other store.

Hey Everyone!

Last week I ordered for Vu (50) 127 cm Iconium UHD 4K Smart TV through flipkart. It got installed yesterday, and first hand experience was awesome.I still need to sync it's ARC with my Marantz NR1402.

I got my old Samsung LCD wall mounted in my bedroom till the time I find some buyers for it.AD has already been place for the same on OLX.

Plasma is still an unfinished project that I need to fulfill.I am looking for a 42" full HD plasma now for bedroom.OLX is still in my list of stores for it.

I thank everyone who written, thought and shared their words to help me through my decision.I am a happy as ever:yahoo:
