It is made of Plywood ( 25mm) and over OST Veneer and the design is available in the net.

Srini, I am new to Altec bandwagon and DIY. Are those bass reflex slots at two sides of each cabinet? How did you arrive at them?

This is interesting.. However for open baffles i have seen the design in net but not for the boxes.. Can u send an link for those.

Anybody out here for infinite baffle, used the concept of folding flaps or ears? Just like "mechanical crossovers", I would like to term that "mechanical baffle step correction"

This makes things a little easy. Just fold the sides when you are not playing them so it looks presentable and no body complains and when the floor traffic is minimum and you are alone for a music session, open them up and start playing.

It can be done with even boxed speakers too. Give them folding ears at two side-lengths. Un-noticeable until un-folded.

Tannoy drivers have been fitted into the enclosures but the fixing the active crossover into the box is taking long.
