Importing heavy (30kg each) speakers from Singapore to Delhi - how?

Query - A friend is about to travel from UK to Mumbai in couple of weeks. He would be carrying 1 pair of used bookshelf speakers for me. The pair of speakers have beeb purchased from ebay. Would he face any hurdle at the Mumbai airport?

He did not carry the original carton. Instead he kept the pair of BS speakers in his check in luggage cushioned with clothes wrapped in bubble wrap. I asked him if he had to declare that he is carrying speakers. He said its not needed until the cost exeeds Rs 50k.

Yes apparently 50k per person is allowed, he was right..
