Hi guys,

Black friday deals started in US and Samsung is selling UH55MU8000 for $899 (excluding shipment cost).

Is it advisable to place order with shipment to India?

Anybody before done that? If yes suggestions please...

Or is it a risky idea?

Thanks in Advance..

due to item sensitivity and shipping, import charges it is not advisable to placing the order. Including all charges you can get it at nearest price in India.

Added to that no warranty which is very critical as LED panels are prone to failure as evidenced by forum members woes.

TVs are not part of the Rs 50000 customs important as per a very specific law that they passed in 2013 just to prevent TV imports to India.

And TVs are not something you can sneak in along with your luggage. And they end up being clearly visible as you walk through the customs line and every one carrying a TV in luggage is pulled over by customs in any Indian Airport. And shipments with TV are also flagged and stopped for customs collection.

Apart from warranty issues you will also need to pay around 35% as customs duty.

Customs Duty @ 35% + an education cess of 3% = Effective total 36.05%

Worth the risk? Clearly No.

Importing it to India will definitely attract duties as enlightened by @saitanay .. Why pay more even after spending $899? and loose warranty?..

Look at other brands, which have 4K capability in 55 inches here, and get maximum warranty..Better to buy from Flipkart, amazon.in during occasion sale time and save some bucks..
