Why don't you take the customer service number from croma and call the vu service center, and ask them questions about the panel etc?
Even LG used to sell much cheaper earlier compared to Sony etc when they entered the market and everyone had the same suspicion that they must be bad that is why they are selling for less.
Customer service of even bigger brands can be screwed up.
