Hi,

I have a Samsung LA40B650T1R which I purchased in Sept 2009. I have just got a wireless dongle (model - Rosewill RNX-N1 Wireless N).

When I connect the wireless to the TV, the TV identifies it, and am able to see my wireless network on the scan. I am able to also enter the wifi password. But after that, the TV does not get the IP Address, DNS Server, etc details automatically (atleast they are not visible on the screen). Also, when I click on Internet@TV button, the message I get is "service not supported".

Another issue I am facing is whenever I turn on the TV (no just from the power plug switch on-off, but also turning it on from the sleep mode), it tells me that the default network attribute is Cable, and as a wireless device is connected, should it convert the network connection mode to Wireless? To which, I have to always say yes (which is in any case useless, as the TV is still unable to connect to the internet).

Can someone please help me resolve the above two issues?

I have upgraded it to the latest firmware - Support for LA40B650T1R

I am not an expert in networking. But this is how I connected my PC to my HD media player over wifi. First find the ip address and subnet mask of your network or router. Then manually set the ip address of your TV. For example if the ip address of your network is 192.168.2.1 and Subnet Mask is 255.255.255.0, then set the ip of your TV to a different one in the same domain like 192.168.2.2 and subnet mask to same 255.255.255.0.

baijuxavior,

I have entered the network details, as you metnioned. To do this, I chose the Manual config options, as against the Auto ones. Now, the TV is passing all the network tests (MAC Address, IP Address, Gateway ping, Domain Ping), and it says that the network is operating properly.

But again, when I select Internet@ option on the remote, the message I get is "Service Not Supported".I am guessing it is because this feature is not supported in India? And I might need to change the Area in the service menu?

Can someone please help me here...

I don't have a smart TV so can't help you in this case. I assume that your TV can now access internet, but you need to figure out how to use the browser and other apps.
