Thought I'd get expert opinions on this. From what I understand, IR is a line-of-sight technology that requires that there be no obstacle between the receiver and the headphone. Also IR has limited range (but it's for watching TV anyway). But I also heard that IR gives better stereo sound and is less prone to interference. And most importantly, IR affords privacy, in that you don't have to worry about your neighbours being tuned into the same band on their wireless headsets, especially if you are watching something naughty.
On that note, has anyone had experience with Philips Wireless Noise Canceling Headphones - SHC2000? How do they compare to Sennheiser RS110 (RF technology)?? The Sennheisers are approximately twice the cost of the Philips.
I have considered going the bluetooth route but rejected it because of the comfort factor (or lack thereof). I have a pair of Motorola behind the neck type bluetooth headphones, which have surprisingly good and deep sound. But comfort is one area in which they fail. Using these headphones for more than 30 minutes and it feels like my ears are going to break off from the rest of my head, not to mention that they make you look like a medieval princess in distress. So comfort is a big factor.
So experts... any gyaan?
