If we can find pirated cassettes of albums we liked in the 80s, how difficult is to find an article in today’s times? :)

Part 2 of Audiopro write up. Extremely well written and more importantly, practical and very sensible.

Thanks for sharing. I enjoyed reading it, admire the clarity of thought to know what sound you want and how to go about achieving it. On the gear chosen...a question for @audiopro if you considered SCM 19A (active version) instead of pairing passive SCM 19 with P1 amp, assuming the same price ballpark.

The passive gives more flexibility with amplifiers and I can voice it depending on what I want. It can be driven relatively easy compared to the bigger Atcs that need more power and benefit from biamping. I also wasn't sure if the ATC would be too direct given my near field position. The minute you think biamping you should go active. The biggest benefit actives have is there is no passive crossover. The crossover always has issues with sound. Going active, each amp is directly connected to the driver and works only within its restricted bandwidth as demanded by the driver and hence the driver amp coupling is superior.

Coming back to the benefits of the passive 19.
It is easier to sell being cheaper. Also at that time I didn't have the budget for an active one.

Lastly the scm19 isn't an end game speaker. If one has the budget and room, look at the active 50s because that speaker does almost everything I could ask for given a small room. Someone on the forum bought an active 150 and thats the way to do it. Buy once and enjoy it.

Lovely and insightful read, @audiopro. Thanks for sharing, @prem.

It’s almost an Audiophile Reboot 101. We all, at some stage of our journey need to go through this. Can imagine something similar happens in every profession when after acquiring complex skills and competencies, at some stage its simplicity dawns upon us - the essence which matters the most, makes the biggest difference. And then we declutter/simplify and start operating in a smooth-flowing manner that appears incredibly easy yet mesmerising.
