Isolation and Vibration Control
Most know this is a highly debated topic and is purely subjective
This thread is NOT for debates
We believe that a loudspeaker or electronic equipment should actually be "isolated" from its surroundings (vis a vis isolated from vibrations, mechanical movements , and even micro vibrations from associated other equipment in its proximity)
Many a time members of this school of thought use Solid devices such as Spikes and Ball points to achieve the above
Some even use a combination of both
the Stillpoints,Ceraball,Symposium Roller blocks are good examples
Many who swear by the above do not believe in use soft spongy dampers like silicon and rubber based polymer products because they tend to bloat and muddy the presentation which disturbs the separation
the other school of thought tends to "couple" the speaker with the stand. They would like the isolater to drain vibrations rather than transmit or repel them
The Agora Acousitcs Magic Hexa is a good example.and so are the magnetism isoalters
The ceraball cleverly uses both concepts
Heres our take on ball isoation
using a ceramic ball and silicon Oring dampers
