This week, NY Times set Indian subscribers to 'Basic Access' (all site online access) and waived off subscription fee for one year/till the issue is resolved.

I wanted to subscribe to NY times and my ICICI credit card doesn't work. Any ideas ?
Same with Economist, is there any thing which needs to be done on the bank side to enable credit card payment ?

Only for NYT, logging in, and gifting an annual subscription to someone you know (friend/family) works. You can then use their cred to access site.
Economist, etc, we need to wait for issue to be resolved if you are a new subscriber.
