I am looking to buy either Panasonic L42ET5D or LG 42LM6410.
Both of them are coming at the same price of 60K.

I see that ET5d has higher refresh rate of 300HZ Backlight scanning, and 42LM6410 had a hyped Motion clarity index of 400 ( doesn't represent refresh rate).
And both are smart and 3D tvs.

I couldn't check the LG TV as it is not available at nearby stores.
Can you suggest which one is better.

I actually wanted non 3D, non smart TV, but couldn't get one below 50K, so I thought to shell another 10K and get 3D and smartTV.
If I can get a 42' Tv for 40K+, I can go for it too.

you check toshiba lcd/leds//may get within 42k....
samsung plasma 490 is within 42k...
panasonic xt is maybe within 45k...
sony led 430 is also 49k.................

all 40 inchers...and within your budget.
read plasma/lcd and demo multiple....and decide...

my pick..if led..430.....if plasma xt....

Anything on L42ET5D vs 42LM6410 ?

I would check Sony 40EX430, and will go for it if I like it.

Is Toshiba good, last time I have seen there is a weird "V" front design, and I didn't like that. I already own a ST30D Plasma, still I decided to go for LED this time.

Hi super charger,

Im also in the same boat. I want to get one of these models for 60K. Im from Bangalore. Where did you get the quotes ?. Are they available in shops ?
With LG 6410, I would like to know if there are stability issues with WIFI. With the panasonic one, the UI is slow in operation, also reviews says that the 3D settings are limited.Surprisingly bith uses almost same panel : from LG

Thanks all for reply.
I got a quote of 62.5K from croma store.

I've checked the tv in store, It is not looking as it is advertised on LG Site, I mean with chrome/silver design.
Also, From LG US site comparison which uses truemotion, MCI400 means 120 Hz.

Hi,

If it is bangalore croma, count me in , we can we bargain for 60K. 62K with stabilzer is another option. The new TVs are coming next month, so they should come down. Igot 59K for LG 6200, 61K for ET5D at one shop. Online these are selling for 60K with freebies.
LG6410 at 60K is good price if we can nail down.
My contact is renjithsmail at gmail.

You guys can definitely ask for freebies at Croma Bangalore. I recently bought LG 47LM6200 with three 3D blu rays (I think offer was originally rolled during Diwali) for 68,990/-, at Koramangala Croma.

Hi ,

Pai and adiswar ppl told, that new LG TV s will be available next month onwards. Also new Sony passive LED tvs are also coming. Im wondering if I should wait till next month. Does any one know if there is a difference in panel for the new LED tv ? Also any specific date of availability ?

thanks ,
HG

LG 2013 series TVs are available. I saw two 42 inchers - PS45 series plasma and LS54 series LCD-LED.

I finally got the delivery of my Pana 42ET5D last weekend. final price 59k, including one HDMI cable free.

First impression is awesome :)

Congratulations.
Since I haven't seen the Panasonic led,
Can you please tell me what made you go for it instead of lg?
Was price the driving factor?

Price was not so much of a deciding factor. When I went to buy, LG model was discontinued and out of stock. So picked up Pana.

The big confusion was if to go for smart & 3D features or not. for this my shortlist was Sony 40" EX650 i think. It was priced at 54k. Hence, finally decided to go for smart+3D Tv for 5k more.

I am still exploring the features, but I do like the inbuilt wifi/dlna. 3D, I think, is just a gimmick :)

My biggest wish was to access NAS on the TV...and DLNA works great with Serviio media server on my TP and the bundled DLNA server with my pogoplug.

I will a after a few days of testing, post a detailed review of the TV.

3 D is not a gimmick..2D to 3D conversion may be (that applies to all brands)..I watched full length 3D movies in my 42ET5D and the effects are good

Quite possible. I have yet to watch a true 3D movie. Plan to do so this weekend :)
Edit: Btw, any recommendations what all movies to watch in 3D?
