To all the guru's here. When it comes to computers we all know a computer monitor would be the best choice for movies or gaming. But I wanna buy an HDTV to which I would attach my PC and Home Theatre. I have the Philips LED TV 5000 series LED TV 24" Full HD 1080p 24PFL5555/V in mind. My question here is if I connect this TV to my monitor would I be getting the same clarity as that on a computer monitor.

I hope someone may have attached his pc to a HDTV please contribute to this thread.

Thanks.

Sure , if ur lcd tv got a dvi input then u connect pc with lcd and enjoy full hd,u will get more clarity compared to ur lcd monitor which u use now,if ur lcd tv doesn't have a dvi input then u can buy a dvi to hdmi cable to get full hd,u can upgrade ur graphic card with hdmi output ....

Bad quality pathetic ASS

As abhi said, you can't go wrong with DELL, especially if the model he mentioned is the one with IPS panel.

Dell U2311H - u will be amazed by it's picture quality, clarity, viewing angles.:)

I agree Dell U2311H is good but it has 8 secs response time which is very very bad for gaming I guess.

I also need a Full HD monitor or Full HD TV 24" - 26" with 2 HDMI ports so that I can connect my PC and HTS to it.

Any recommendations are welcome.

Then why not go the whole hog and get a 32 incher?

well shredder I thought of it long time back. Since I'm also gonna use the TV as a monitor too, I thought 32" would be too big. So I decided on a 24"- 26" one.

Secondly a 32" full HD TV is kinda expensive as my budget is max 30K

If you could kindly suggest a good Full HD TV between 24" - 26" with 2 HDMI ports keeping in mind its not just TV I am looking for but a computer monitor too where I can attach my PC and HTS. I'd appreciate that.

I think it's better to go for a 23"' monitor with TV features (like LG M237WA) instead of the other way round. You see dedicated monitors allow for multiple resolutions and refresh rates, which TVs dont have. Say you have a mid range graphics card, and you're playing a demanding game like Crysis (notorious for H/W requirements) on a monitor you can easily scale down the resolution to 1776x1000 ot 1680x960, something u cant do on a TV. Its either 1920x1080 @60Hz or bust. Even if you do not game, text quality is always better on a monitor than it is on a TV. Web browsing for extended session will have flicker and will strain your eyes. Go for the TV route only if you're going to use the computer as a HTPC and will be running an optimized OS like Windows 7 Media Center or Linux based Myth TV.

Sorry to disagree but you CAN scale down the resolution on a TV. Am saying this with full confidence because I just finished a long session of Crysis on a Full HD TV. Just like a monitor, the TV can also accept multiple resolutions, not just its native resolution. I played Crysis at a resolution of 1280x720 resolution and it looks damn good, not least because the TV does some native upscaling and eliminated jaggies that would otherwise be present on a monitor which is not displaying its native resolution.
Not just with Crysis. With any game. FIFA, NBA2K series, etc, etc.

On a side note, the monitor you recommend LG 237WA is very good for gaming. I used to own one, but the black levels are very weak.

A beautiful, well-constructed speaker with class-leading soundstage, imaging and bass that is fast, deep, and precise.
