Hi Pals,

I own a Samsung LCD TV model LA40C550 that was purchased in Nov 2010. I choose this model after reviewing lotz of feedback on this form (Thanks to HFV).

Off late, i have noticed that there are many posts regarding LCD TV trouble related to panel, dead pixel etc across all brands/models. And this is not restricted to older ones, even the TV that was purchased just few months back are also prone to these problems.

Hence, i am little scared as we would have invested such huge money and fell disheartened if it doesnt last long.

Please share us any tips or precautions that need to be taken care for LCD TV's. Also, suggest us a good LCD TV cleaning kit.

Thanks..

Use stabilisers and surge protecters, dont place the lcd below a split ac, the moisture will lead to trouble,if got little childrens we have to educate them not to play near tv ,check electric supply sometime return supply can come when power is cut,i mean neutral return,if ur using local cable tv check there is any current return,u can use a spike protecter.....
Switch off tv when u have heavy thunder and rain though u got a spike protecters....

I am using V-Guard Crystal Plus... Anyway i will consider your inputs.. Good that you remind me of Spike Protector.. i will plug that today

Thanks

I paid Rs.2400/- for VGuard VG Crystal Plus. I thought of connecting through Belikin Surge Protector Power Strip, but the Plug of the TV has a bigger pin (15amps) that will not fit into the power strip.. Hence connected via Stablizer.
