LED / 3D Monitor vs. normal LCD TV

Hi friends,

I am looking forward to buy a 3D monitor. I will be using it along with my PC for seeing the movies.

I would like to ask what should i buy, a 3D monitor or a normal LED TV, which one will work better for me.

What is your budget? How much 3D content do you have?

If only one or 2 person will watch movie in a short distance, then you shall take a 3D monitor, if the group is big better go for TV.

When it comes to 3D, first thing there are two major technologies, i.e., Active and Passive 3D. Monitors with Active 3D are available from Acer, Samsung, Viewsonic etc., For Active 3D the glasses are slightly heavy and needs to be powered by battery. It gives discomfort to the eyes for some people. Also the 3D glasses are costly.

Passive 3D glasses are cheaper (around Rs.250) and they are much comfortable to eyes. But they have view angle limitation. Currently two models are available in India LG D2342P and Acer GR235H. LG does not have in-built speaker. Both cost somewhere around Rs.15000.
