I'm confused between LG 32LS4600 or Samsung 32EH5000. In the six showrooms that I visited till now LG is brighter than Samsung but I do not see any good reviews about LG in the forum. Could you suggest? Sony seems to be expensive but is there any good model in the same range. My budget is around 32K and looking for full HD LED TV.

Thanks.

If you have been reading this forum as well as others, one thing you must have come across quite clearly is never trust showroom settings. The showroom people set the TV with optimum contrast, colour and brightness that appeals in a brightly lit surrounding. Try the same settings at home and your body/eyes will slap a headache in no time.

Go to showroom. Take remote in your own hands. Switch to normal picture setting. Use factory reset for the setting. And then check.

I am not saying which one is better but that do not trust showrooms. Even in multibrand showrooms, some manufacturers provide heavier margin and hence the sales guys tend to push those models.

I am currently using an LG 32LS4600. Bought it two months back. The TV is pretty awesome. In my opinion Sony is overpriced for no concrete reason.

I don't think you will get it for 32k though until and unless you are getting a really good dealer discount or something. Last time I checked it was going for 37k.

Thanks just4kix, I'll try that in the showroom.

@vjvarun123, Infibeam offers it under 32k now. I too saw some good reviews about LS4600. Before buying this, did you consider Sony or Samsung 32EH5000 or any other models?

By the way, the Samsung EH5000 is no match against the LG LS4600. There is a stark picture quality difference between the two (LG being better). Also the viewing angles are much better on the LG LS4600 due to the IPS panel.

Pros over Samsung.

Pros (LG)
3 HDMI on LG vs 2 on Samsung
LAN connectivity
VGA connection (for PC)
DLNA certification

Samsung UA32D5900 is a better comparison in this case.

Thank you. I think Samsung discontinued their D series now. I'll most likely go with LG 32LS4600 unless someone has better suggestion.

Are you looking at used as an option also. I can use a bigger TV since i have moved into a bigger place now. :)
LS4600, less than two months old. Box, bill and accessories included? Mint condition.

Sony's same price models have very good black level and higher contrast ratio than Lg models thus offer better pic quality..
For a better pic quality most people pay higher price.
These above observation are from various review site not my personal views so there are very concrete reasons.

Port is not a parameter to measure which tv is superior..pic quality is a parameter which needed to be measured.
It's cause Lg advertise IPS panel so much that people got a wrong understanding that IPS is superior..while samsung don't advertise their panel and in most review sites samsung models get better review over lg due to better pic quality and nothing else.

Hi lake1988,

Regarding IPS panels, they do have an advantage over TN panels in terms of color reproduction and viewing angles. I never said all LG panels are better than all Samsung and sony panels available. But comparing the specific models mentioned. :)

And no. of ports and connectivity options are important depending on how you want to you use the device. For some a television is connected to only one source which could be DTH. For me it's a part of my home network, is an extended monitor for my PC and of course serves the regular television duties.

I don't think Samsung EH5000 uses TN panel..it uses a type of VA panel which offer superior blacks and contrast ratio than IPS.
TN panels are used in very low end lcds like priced below 15-20K.

No Samsung/Sony TV uses TN panels. Mostly TN panels are used in laptops and desktop monitors. And yes no doubt VA > IPS. IPS panels have very poor blacks that are comparable to laptops/desktop monitors/smartphones not Sony/Samsung LED TVs

Most mid range LG sets have black level of 0.25 + whereas Sony/Samsung LEDs have black levels of 0.10 or lower, same story in contrast Ratio. LG/Panasonic IPS sets have 1000:1 contrast and Samsung/Sony/Toshiba/Sharp/Philips VA panel TVs have 2500:1 or greater.

I never said sony/samsung don't use TN panels..but that samsung model doesn't use a TN panel...

And all about blacks and contrast ratio...yes that same thing I was talking abt before..

I think there is some confusion. I said not a single Sony/Samsung TV uses TN panel :p

I know, I was actually referring to vjvarun123's comment about LG IPS being superior to TN panels and then saying Sony/Samsung. ;)

Affordable & efficient LED TV

I am looking for TV of 32" (Viewing distance is 9' only). My order of priorities are 1. Less Power Consumption. 2. Cheaper Price. 3. Fast Refresh rate & picture depth. 4. Good media playing support includes mp4 & mkv. 5. Good connectivity includes D-Sub. I short listed Philips 32PFL4737. Any suggestions? I got deals btween Rs. 24K & 25K. Thanks in advance.

Thre is no differance between the two, LG makes the lcd screen for many manufacturers including samsung. I bought the Samsung and am very satisfied with it. The reason why the screens are brighter or darker is tho LG makes the lcd screens Samsung uses different control boards which are defaulted differently. With a few adjustments you can actually match the pictures exactly.
