I have a Samsung 5500 51 inch plasma...

It is 3d capable and full hd..

I have watched few 3d movies.. Nothing to complain.. Not bad not great..

But yesterday... I had gone to a showroom to help a friend choose a tv..

The lg cinema 3d 51 inch led.. Man.. The details were kickass.. I loved the picture quality..

And most importantly.. The glasses were light and didn't need batteries (passive polarized 3d)

I was wondering if I should have gone for that..

I feel like I'm stuck to old age tech now :-(

Has anyone else check it out? Sighs

Yup...I know which led you are talking about...I think it was the 6910 n the 3d details where brilliant. I saw this tv on display at chroma n it was a passive 3d set with comfortable n light glasses.
It had some LG's own 3d video playing...n it was spectacular i too was very impressed with LG's passive 3d tech.
I haven't seen any tv come close to this kinda 3d experience. For the first time I was all sold on LGs passive 3d...:clapping:

55 la6910 LED is around 1.8 lakhs( croma )
You will get samsung 64F8500 in that price range 1.9 lakhs.
47la6910 is 1.1 lakhs.
Samy 51f5500 is below 72k.

LG 3D Cinema are good TV especially 3D; but if you compare its picture quality with plasma ; its not even close. most of the time we watch 2D. and for 2D nothing can beat plasma.
3D is very subjective, on passive 3d you will see horizontal lines as it half the resolution. its not much visible in smaller size. but quite noticeable with larger display 50 inches or more. However with your plasma its full HD but its tough on eyes.

Demo in showroom is entirely different league as its tuned for that environment. I have run these demo videos on my plasma. I got smiler experience or somewhat better as I got picture in full HD.

Lg la690v according to cnet has SUB Par performance w.r.t SD.
I have never heard of such strong words w.r.t SD performance.
