Hi guys,

Im looking for a best deal within a 55 K budget for a 42 inch tv. I m targeting to get either a smart TV or a 3D TV. I heard thatLG 42 LM 3410 display pieces and Panasonic 42 E5D in this range. Panny is quite good in PQ, but I couldnt see any 3410 on store yet. Can any one tell me whether it is worth wile to go for this backlight 3D LED TV with an MCI of 100 . I couldnt find any reviews also of this model much. pls help.

Why do you want to compromise with a display piece for 55k?? When new ones are available for 59-60k. I had seen LG 42LM3410 in Indiranagar Croma store. This was about a month ago. However, I was tracking this TV at that time and noticed that it went out of stock on all the online stores within 2 weeks time. There is a fair chance you may not get it now.

Pana 42E5D is available for 51+k.

Sirs, the picture quality of the set is good. Side angle viewing is excellent. Black levels are moderate but good at this range. Refresh rate isn't very high and you can feel that in a fast moving landscape scene. What happens is you experience judder. The sound quality is filling for a 20X10 feet room, however the voices are difficult to catch at times, especially if you are watching an American movie on the wild west. Really don't know how much the 'clear voice' tech helps.

The BIG Cons are the following:

1. No Audio Out/ No headphone out: Be careful about this. When you buy a 42" (pretty big) 3D Full HD LED TV, you may want to be able to experience surround sound without having to buy a home theater. What it means is you can't buy surround sound systems. To get surround sound and watch a FULL HD or 3D movie from you Hard Drive (Pen Drive), you need to but minimum a Bluray Home Theater (a decent one will cost about 25K, starts at17K), since the audio feed will have to go to the speakers from outside the TV, say from the AV receiver or DVD/ Bluray Player itself. But, with a DVD Home Theater you can't play the Full HD files from a Hard Drive. You can do that only from a Bluray player which can play those files from a Hard Drive and send the Audio Feed to the speaker and the Video feed to the TV via a single HDMI. So you are going to have to invest another 20K minimum to get a home theater set up when you are ready!:mad: :mad::mad::mad::mad:

1. Single HDMI: In today's world a single HDMI is just not enough. You expect at least two! :o

2. You can't change the Aspect Ratio! :o

But a 42" 3D LED HD TV at this price? Even if you invest 25K more and buy a Sony or Samsung you aren't going to see much difference in picture quality, for the extra money that you would spend on those.
