LG 60PK550 or Panasonic 50V20. Acquisition advice

What good is 60'' if it can't last even an year. The repair would cost the same as buying new. If you add the cost of extended warranty then panasonic, lg and samsung will cost the same. I have done the math for 50'' LG and it costs more than panasonic.

Size of the screen and cost is just a mirage. Lets not forget that without the working display unit it's useless.

And I just enquired from home town noida, panasonic is still available with 3 year warranty.

In Romania the warranty is 2 years, both for Panasonic and LG.

I still have one month to decide, but i think i will buy the LG. I can get the 60pk550 at the same price as the Panasonic p50v20e.
Those 10 extra inches of the LG really matter to me.
If i won't be happy with it i have 30days to return it without giving them any reason.

Maybe i can get the shop i am buying the TV from, to order both TV's and do a side by side comparison. Although if i do that, i am very afraid i will like the Panasonic more. If that happens i will be very mad for buying a 50'' TV instead of a 60'' :(

Folks, since the OP is from outside our country, can you discuss prices in US$? Or at least mention prices in US$ in addition to INR?

Cheers

Or you could wait a bit till LG launches the PX 3D Plasma Series (PX950) in India, it will feature 3D THX certification and an all-new TruBlack filter with skinless bezel and motion controlled remote

Or maybe not as LG can conveniently downscale some of the key feaures of indian market thinking we are less deserving then our western counterparts. Though we will be paying more then double for the same set compared to western counterparts.
