Hello guys i been searching for some settings by which we can watch SD channels to their level best on my HDTV through my HD set-top box which is connected through hdmi to my HDTV...

HD channels looks good on it but SD channels are not so goood..so i am asking for the advice or links if any...

Any help is welcome...thank you...!!!

Also i would like to know is their anyway to play .mkv files through USB port..i heard about some setting in service menu..but how to enter service menu..is it just for european television..well i am from INDIA..!!

And if not possible then...how to output the best quality of divx files through USB..few tweaks by which .avi files will look close to .mkv files or so..!! i know that the resolution wont help but i would like to know if by doing other settings like "setting video bitrates high" does it affect in anyway...

well for clibration...

1. its personal as diff people have diff kind of taste.. however if you are still looking for settings search here there are many threads for the same.

LCD TV Calibration: Learn to Calibrate the Picture Settings your LCD Television.

2. yes what is said is correct that there was option to play HD through divx.. and through the service menu.. but it was till the older models.. now even if you enter the service menu the option of HD playback has been removed..

3. there is no way to tweak the inbuilt tv player as is nutin much than useless...

Just go to ebay.in site and search for "media player". Seller information like location of the seller is provided alongside each item. Most sellers list their telephone numbers so you can contact them directly.

For example: there is this seller called mark-infotech who sells a WDTV Live for 6699/- which is a damn good price btw. He lists his telephone number 09820284928. Call him up and make the arrangements.

There is also a Seagate FreeAgent GoFlex for 7975/- by a seller navkar_collection. His telephone number is listed as 9029929697. He offers cash on delivery so it may work out for you.
If you want more options go to the ebay.in site and search like I told you.
