Hey Guys..

Was looking for some advice from few of my friends when i heard good things about this site. So thought about joining in here. Pretty neat site this one. :)

A lil something about my query..
I am planning to get hold of LG model LG 32LD460 - 32" LCD TV panel at a price of about 30k (Courtesy Networking)
LG price being offered is somewhat spl and has really got me interested.
Now i know zuck about the panels atm and i need some expert advice/suggestion for my needs.

Usage gonna be 60% TATA Sky HD and 40% my Divx/Blu Ray Rips.
Viewing Distance gonna be Min: 8-10 feet and Max: 16 feet.

How is the LD460 - 32" in general and esp at that price of 30k ??
Full warranty remaining.

If your budget is 30k go for it or else if you can streach up a bit try see 40" models. 8 to 10 feet viewing distance 40" is good.

LD 460 is a VFM tv with many features (DVIX HD and networking)...

I tried getting reviews for the LD 460 model but wasnt successful.. this included on the net and hifivision as well.

1) When we talk about budget being in the range of 30k.. and this model being vfm.. what all good options are we sacrificing ..?
and secondly..
2) can you pls enlist few good 40" models with pricing ?

Its a good option. At a very good price. Go for it.
the competing samsung is 5k costlier with no added benefit.

The only disadvantage with this TV (based on the spec on LG website) is its response time, which is 4ms, otherwise LD460 is definitely good TV. FOr a budget conscious people I recommend this TV. For rich and tech savvy, i recommend LD650, which has 2ms response time and better contrast ratio.

I would not buy if it is in resale. I think you should be able to get at that price from the market. I am not sure but checking in the market is a good thing before you pull the trigger.

Also consider 42" for your viewing distance.

And about 4ms response time, you do not need worry much, I have Sharp Aquos a 3 year old 32 LCD TV with 4ms response time, I have never onserved any problem even for gaming.

Err.. you mean that LD 460 is available in the mkt for that very price (~30k) even w.o any source ?

Any good 40"/42" recommendations ..?
Both budget as well as other options (which wont burn a hole in the pocket but still be able to do the necessary job.. ?)

Thanks for the valuable inputs there :)

I did not understand your question.
Anyways, 32LD460 MRP is 40K, a thumb rule (may not be true all the time) is to get around 20% discount on the MRP is a good deal for current products. With this I think one should be able to get this at (around) 32K.

To answer your second question:

42LD460 definitely a good TV and should be available lessthan 50K. When I was buying my TV, I had a tie between LG 42LD650 and Panasonic P42V20D. Both are at around 60K+. 42LD650 is an high end LCD TV as of now and should be available at (around) 60K.

Go here BEST LCD DEALS : India's No1 Lcd portal to check the market price and call them up probably you get even better pricing. You can either buy from them or use this price info to negotiate the price with the local dealer.

and the LD460 does not come with any motion flow controller (100 Hz, 200 Hz Trumotion) It might be important for sports and games

The lg implementation called trumotion doesn't make much of a difference.

@Spiron
I suggest you to have a look at the samsung C530 ,it has far more contrast, has a good SD performance or the Sony EX400 in the grey market its priced well below your 30k budget.

After Indepth comparison with LD460 and C630, got the latter.
Pretty happy with performance as its def a few notch above the LG one.

Thanks everybody. :)

For excellent sound that won't break the bank, the 5 Star Award Winning Wharfedale Diamond 12.1 Bookshelf Speakers is the one to consider!
