Folks, after a demo of the LG LW6500 - which, incidently surprised me with it's 3D capability - I took the plunge ! paid 1.15K including a (free?!)Tata Sky HD box. I expect the set to be delivered within the next couple of hours.

Found the brightness a bit too much in the shop, but I expect one can adjust the levels.SD broadcast( from Videocon STB) was not too impressive, but the HD display was very good. A 3D demo using the wild life "Galapagos" was truly impressive- was pleasently surprised.

I had no intention of viewing 3D in the near term (not being impressed with the quality I saw so far)I have no 3Dcontent - would therefore be grateful if any one here can give me some content on a USB: not necssarily movies- I shall be happy to pay for it: please PM me. Thanks.

Even after repeatedly requesting the salesman not to send me a display piece - that is exactly what he did! Even though I know the piece cannot be more than 5 days old -even now, several large dealers including Croma and Vijay Sales do not have the model in stock - I sent it back. I might have accepted it, if he was honest enough to admit it, but they kept insisting it was a "Factory sealed" piece- which really was unacceptable.

You could download loads of Side by Side 3D videos. Several torrents are also available which may contain copyrighted material...

Hi Kittu -it's a 47". I had an offer for 1L for the 5700, but the other half in the house did not like the frame /bezel looks!( only difference is the "Motion Clarity" index 850 against 600, and contrast of 9m and 5m.
Thanks Prankey - prefer not to download, especially copyrighted stuff: also my IP speeds would mean I have to wait for hours to complete a file. In any case would be grateful if could PM me a couple of sites.

Thank you. The set was delivered yesterday aftternoon- and we are still trying to get familiar with the controls. Sadly, the "Magic wand Remote" is not included - though it is implied on the carton.

Intial reaction : a very good set - and the 2D conversion to 3D is extremly good- much better than we expected- though there are flaws in the conversion software - as the pictures at times gets distorted.

Would appreciate any pointers on the calibarations/ settings.
