This thread should be renamed "Links to Desi Deals" for more impact :)

For Bangaloreian's - rush to Landmark in Forum to pick few average to good Audio CDs and not so great movies for sales at discounted rates.

can get 7.5% discount in landmark for cash purchases. but please do understand that cannot be done for huge amounts daily but surely can help someone.

denzong,

Do you have memebership card or something? I mean do you have to be there at the counter or any passcode to get the discount? How does that work? Is this apply to Bangalore Landmark?

any landmark in india. but only i have to be present there. mind you its only for cash purchases. i get 5% on card purchases but the payment has to go through my card.

The onida bdp is a steal at that price and i read somewhere that it can be made region free by entering code.

Yes I can confirm that the onida bdx1110 can be made region free through simple remote instruction. The menu actually tells you to enter 1 for region A and so on.its on sale at 5000 rs. At the ezone for today and tomorrow, go grab it

how is the performance of this bdp in terms of PQ?
I do not have an HDMI receiver - how is the sound output via coax/ optical and analog outs?

I checked it briefly at ezone, looks acceptable, as I cannot compare across other players in same tvs and content I cannot say better or as good as let's say Sony entry level players or not. But looked at it standalone, looked decent. And it does have multichannel analog out, so the player should be able to decode the hd sound at it's end send out the analog signal to your amp. In fact I also have a older receiver, the Cambridge 540r, so all put together at a price of 5000 this seems too good to be true, get it while it lasts. The only other player which offers multichannel analog out within 10k is the Philips bdp7500, that's a pretty good player, whathifi has reviewed it, that's also available at ezone, but it's not region free.

@vivek - are your comments for sound from analog out or digital/ hdmi sound out also had issues?
