Hi,

Is is usual that there emerges a lip-sync prob in the .avi format movies when we watch it on a dvd player. I had noticed twice in this regard. It was a Xvid file of some english movie. The first 30 minutes the audio and video were in sync, but later on I noticed a delay of about 2/3 seconds for the following 20 minutes, and it later progressed to 4 seconds. It got so irritating that I had to abort the viewing after a while.

Is there a way to overcome this error. I heard somewhere of Yamaha a/v receivers where the error is minimized to a great extent by lip-sync delay switch. This switch allows us to adjust the delayed lapse say 2 secs / 3 secs, where by the a/v gets adjusted for that duration.

Let me know about our members experiences, and rectification if any.

SOunds like there are buffering issues causing the lipsync. I would suggest pausing and then playing through your DVD player. Let us know what happens and we can take it from there

I experienced this issue with .divx and Xvid files when I tried to forward the movie to skip some scenes. From that scene onwards will get sync problem. If stop it and play it back from the beginning( A kind of punishment for skipping) it usually works fine without any sync issue. This of course if the file is good and doesn't have issues in PC but only with DVD player.

For excellent sound that won't break the bank, the 5 Star Award Winning Wharfedale Diamond 12.1 Bookshelf Speakers is the one to consider!
