Looking to buy a Home Cinema!

hello,

i own an LG TV 42lm3400 (no hdmi arc but 1 optical yes)

I want to buy a home cinema. i was looking on amazon i found Sony BDV-N790 Sony BDV-N990 but after reading about those it might not be the best choice.

I want a home cinema to listen to music, bluray concerts and movies.

Apparently the way to go is an ampli (denon) and speakers but i dont know precisely which model.

my budget is around 600 euros.

For HT systems always look for specialized brands like Onkyo, Denon, Yamaha, Pioneer etc. A few suggested models are Onkyo 3500, Denon 1312XP, Yamha YHT 296/298. Going separates like Denon 1612 AVR and Boston Acoustics XS5.1 speakers will give you better sound quality than the before mentioned HTiBs.

For 600 Euros you can always go for the separate amplifier and speaker packages.

thanks for all the suggestions.

i realised i may have to settle with something like the Yamaha Yht 298 or Onkyo 3505 they are like 380 euros.

So of course now im wondering which one is better?

they can read flac from usb?

First take a audition of both the HTs, listen them. Whatever you like take it. There is nothing different between these two HTs.

If you want the home theater for both music & movies then, its better to go with Yamaha YHT-298 package. The Yamaha is more suitable than the Onkyo for both music & movies.

The Onkyo HT-S4505's movie performance is very good and music is at par.

thanks for the hint. Although my next TV wont be a LG wasnt too thrilled to find out it wasnt Arc compatible...
