Made like a Gun, goes like a Bullet

Excellent work done by your mechanic, for how much you bought that bike ? in kerala 90 model bullets goes for 1Lakh plus

Total was Rs75k including restoration, still need to pay for transportation from Gwalior to Nashik and paperwork.
Can anyone suggest me a cheap and reliable option of transport.I once used Indian Rail to bring my Activa from Gwalior to Nashik.

Regards,
Sachin

Bike + Restoration for 75k !!!!! thats unthinkable in kerala , even the military junks costs 75K upwards. Five years back we sold my brothers excellent condition 96 model for 32K now the same thing is selling for 1.25Lk :( that's the craze for non UCE bulls .

Yes,I know prices are higher everywhere.I got this by luck.I buy it from a Police auction. There were total 8 bikes. All bikes used by Police.I had few contacts there so got it cheaply and best out of the lot.Everyone else paid higher amount than us for remaining Bullets. My bike was on their stockyard since 7-8 years. We had to lift it on a loading Tempo to Mechanic. He fill some petrol, and put an old battery. It started on first kit.
I used to ride 1989 RX100,but it was stolen 2 years back, since than I was searching for a Bullet.

Sachin

Great to see the pics, welcome to the bullet club, I am using one since 2001, travelled extensively on that, now brother uses it. done an engine overhaul last year. Once u get used to the sound, there's no getting away, I remember that I used to get jittery if I didn't hear the thump for a few days

I think we have some things in common:).I also have Fiat Punto and Palio.I got a clue from your profile pic.

Hi Sachin, yes we too had a Palio 1.9D for three years before we bought the 90hp. Btw do u like yezdis also. We adore them.. kept one running for seven years before running out of patience for spares.

Yes I like Yezdi and Jawa and Yamahas (Rx100 and Rd350).One of my friend has a well maintained Jawa.I ride it time to time.

Regards,
Sachin

Great to hear, our best motorcycling days were on the yezdi cl-ii, and I love the RD also. Had a brief run on it.

Ah ! OK. Thanks. Just curious. Are bullets only manufactured in India ? I heard they are exported to US too. Very long back I saw in Mumbai a Parsi fellow with bullet type bike. It had starting kick perpendicular to bike. Wonder what bike that was ?

bullet is ...so British rugged classic no nonsense 'design'.

Yes Bullet is a classic design.Friends advised me to modified my Bullet into Desert Storm Classic with Matt finish paint, but I like Bullet Standard model more.

Sachin

Congratulations on the bike Sachin. The restoration looks nice - very authentic. I too used to ride a bullet a few years ago. I had one of the first iterations of the thunderbird 350. Loved it, and also hated it (for all the problems that it threw up). I sold it off after a couple of years because of the unreliability.

Hope you have a good time with the 'bull'.

Best,
APK

Some Parsis in Bandra (around 30 yrs ago) use to own H.Davidson "Indiana Chief" bikes which had hand gears looked very much like the BSA/Bullet.

wlg,

Harley Davidson & Indian are 2 different bike manufacturers

The Indian's top Model was the Chief. Yes, It was/is a popular bike with the Bawa's :D

FYI, Indian, under new management will be launching their new Chief in August 2013 at the mother of all bike rallies, Sturgis!

Incidentally, Indian was the first American Motorcycle Co.

One of my fav bikes too :licklips:
