I am having Marantz model NR-1402 and faced with problem of no output from HDMI. I was indicated price of Rs.16000/- + repairing cost. But was not informed about replacement of IC is possible.
Now I am using the AVR by connecting Vedio signal from my WDTV directly to TV and audio optical out from WDTV to AVR. This is the simplest solution I have found for this problem with excellent results. No repair cost nothing !

In the past i also hooked up video through my brand new onkyo amp using s-video input , I have seen more noise and in some less faded color in the video . I removed the connection from amp and connected directly to tv, the video was more clear. It looks it to me some interferences.. More over i did not see advantage of hooking up through amp...except for video switching with different input sources. That we can do it with TV itself. I just left it as it's .
May be recent amps may do upscaling of video... not sure how it's better than upscaling from TV.

Hi I ve heard many cases ,that due to the Tatasky/Videocon d2h many HDMI board will get damaged during bad weather condition. I have faced it ,I feel because of it one of my Samsung 32" 3D TV has got panel issues . You can feel the earth when you touch the signal cable with your bare hand coming from the dish .Nowadays I using only RCA cable instead of HDMI due to this.

The AVR is with service center till now. Every time I call him , he gives new dates. I am still waiting patiently to get it fixed .

hmmm... i believe its more than a month now for an IC replacement? Is that something which they are importing?

Nope, The Ic was procured from mumbai. They say that it did not work after ic replacement and they need to update software then fix some voltage issue then excuses for local electricity issue , his laptop issue and what not. At one time mumbai center wanted to see the board and he told it is in transit but never reach mumbai. I do not know what is he doing.

Is there Authorised Service Centers in Pune? Because know its only in Mumbai which is closest to your location. Try to seek help from them, else write to MARANTZ if they can help bcoz i see you have mentioned the Warranty just expired few months back. Whats the validate period for Marantz Warranty? are these international Warranty?

@apbinu Pune fellow's contact was given by My Akabr from marantz service center.

I am again told by Pune guy on saturday that set is giving problem work is in progress. I am kind of helpless here and waiting. I have already paid 4k a month back as i was told that ic will be bought only after payment.

Update:
Service center has givenup on AVR. After changing the IC , the avr was going off in few hours. They tried to update the firmware whice kept on giving error 80.
Finally they are reverting the IC and giving back avr without fix . I am not sure about the actual condition of avr right now.
Any thought?

Trip to MZ audio Mumbai with the AVR might help, else the only option i can think of writing / reaching out to Marantz with your concern.
