Hi All,

Just wish to share some regarding Marantz 5004 integrated amplifier.

Just got 5004 at home and pair it with my acoustic portrait floor standers & cambridge audio player.

Worked extremly neutral with open sound & very good bass.

Hi

Marantz like NAD or Cambridge Audio rules the music world and is affordable. Never experienced a true better performance from Bose / Yamaha / Pioneer / Denon which I owned over the past 10 years.

yes, because their roots are in audio.
Denon can give u good performance but only their high end models like avchd models comes for above $5k.

...Or that, for example, Yamaha is strong for motorbikes too , ecc. ... :D

Oh yeh
I found thsi on wkipedia

Yamaha Corporation - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Yamaha was established in 1887 as a piano and reed organ manufacturer by Torakusu Yamaha as Nippon Gakki Company, Limited (?????????? Nippon Gakki Seiz? Kabushiki Kaisha?) (literally Japan Musical Instrument Manufacturing Corporation) in Hamamatsu, Shizuoka prefecture and was incorporated on October 12, 1897. The company's origins as a musical instrument manufacturer is still reflected today in the group's logoa trio of interlocking tuning forks.[3]

so a music instrument maker from 125 years , whose instruments are REFERRED BY PROFESSIONALS is not knowing music??

They started Bike division in WWII
After World War II, company president Genichi Kawakami repurposed the remains of the company's war-time production machinery and the company's expertise in metallurgical technologies to the manufacture of motorcycles. The YA-1 (AKA Akatombo, the "Red Dragonfly"), of which 125 were built in the first year of production (1954), was named in honour of the founder. It was a 125cc, single cylinder, two-stroke, street bike patterned after the German DKW RT125 (which the British munitions firm, BSA, had also copied in the post-war era and manufactured as the Bantam and Harley-Davidson as the Hummer. In 1955,[4] the success of the YA-1 resulted in the founding of Yamaha Motor Co., Ltd.

Please check the facts before posting......:rolleyes::rolleyes:

Vikas when you used neutral IT IS A COMPARATIVE WORD . So Neutral with respect to what ? What music you checked? How come you know this combination is Neutral? Or it is your perception?

Yam as 500 in direct comparison with pm 6004 shows more dry, although more diffuse and detailed high frequencies, similar bass punch, but more fatiguing listening overall, for me. I tested this AS 500 for a week at home , but then I changed with Marantz PM 6004 (I think 5004 is almost the same).

Yam AS 500 is a very complete amp, but doesn't meet my preferences for a warm sound with my B&W; is a beautifull vintage looking amp, with a lot of features, but no good vol and tone knobs and a delicate front plate for fingerprints when you touch ...

For excellent sound that won't break the bank, the 5 Star Award Winning Wharfedale Diamond 12.1 Bookshelf Speakers is the one to consider!
