Marantz SR-6004 Receiver is flashing red light and not functioning

I will not put a surge protector after a voltage stabilizer. This is incorrect use.

Also, would any UPS do or should I only go for a sine wave one?

You can use a UPS such as APC Back-UPS series. Please buy the right capacity based on the equipment load. However; the function of this is to not have abrupt power outage for the equipment. I would not run my AV equipment on it as a power back solution. When there is no power, just shut down everything.

Any suggestions on what surge protector to buy?

You can buy Belkin Ultimate Series surge protector. From personal experience, it has saved equipment from a spike in the line twice and Belkin replaced the unit.

Thanks you all guys, specially Vjc for suggesting the way to reset the flashing red light problem. Today I could reset it successfully by pressing SURROUND + EXIT + CLEAR. It is now working fine.

I don't want to take any further risk and decided for an APC SUA1500i UPS, as suggested by a FM. Looking for an APC dealer at Delhi/NCR to get it at competitive price. Heard that somebody purchased this UPS at 17.8k from Nehru Place.
