Marantz sr4023 stereo receiver

Dear Friends

Owners of Marantz SR4023, please share your experience/feedback about this product.

This product is available at HIFImart website for 24k. i was considering buying this.

Regards, Amit

I owned a 7004 and auditioned SR-4023 with Focals, PSB. At any scale 7004 will be better than 4023. But when it comes to paying double the amount I will go for 4023. If you have big room go for 7004.

Loudness,

9' O clock position of 7004 >= 10' O clock position of 4023

Convenience,

7004 Manual controls for Bass, treble & Mid
4023 you can control Bass and treble from remote.

If you do not have the habit of changing gears in every 2 years go for the best ie, 7004
If money is a constraint then go for 4023 from hifimart.

Thanks Svkndv,

Budget is the constraint, actuall i am looking to spend arounf 20k on the amp, thought if i get positive response on marantz sr 4023 then i will go ahead with the same.

I dont think i will change the gear for next 5 years or so unless somthing goes wrong with the system. Further about the volume levels, i think 9' O Clock position of basic amp like denon pma 510 ae is sufficient for me and if i increase the volume further then my neighbours will surely complain as we live in apartment.

Do you think the Marantz SR 4023 will be as good as marantz pm 6004 or so.

Regards, Amit

I would recommend to go ahead with 4023 as it does not have major difference with 7004.

In fact I am planning to buy 4023 in couple of months.

All Marantz amps are very very sweet sounding. I had Marantz SR4600 AV receiver previously and presently own PM7001 integrated amp (siimilar to PM7004). Both are very very good. To me PM7001 is a little more sweet , airy and delicate than my SR4600 but much more powerful than SR4600. If your speaker is high sensitivity one, you can go for SR4023. But if the speaker is of low sensitivity, SR4023 will not be a good choice.

Thanks Partho,

How do i find the sensitivity of speakers. which one is high or low. Sorry i am just beginner in this field. Could you recommend some bookshelf around 12 to 15k.
Will Cambridge S30 or Wharfdale Diamond 121 will go with marantz SR4023?

Hey thanks a lot for allocating time to talk to me to explain about amp and speakers.
