material to fill my speaker stands

Recently I bought a pair of Aura speaker stands from magma.Wondering what to fill them with?Bought something at an aquarium shop(below is the picture).
Will it do?
Pls advise.

if youve bought it already
it will do
as long as it doenst ring with vibrations
just make sure its dry before filling

also you will need a funnel - the one you fill kerosene with

Is it the "Circa" you were referring to in another thread? Only 2kg of the mentioned material(per each stand) filled the columns upto 85-90%.Is the weight enough?
 
Filter sand
Wash with water+dettol
Dry thoroughly in the sun
Stick it in the microwave for residual moisture to dry

Though this look weird idea but IMO it should satisfy required damping requirements.

Got thinking of finest rock powder "white rangolee" which is chip (better half says Rs 10/KG) and easy to buy, ready available as clean and dry. To my knowledge 2.5KG in each column should be okay. Will that be okay? Did anybody tried?
