Hi All/Friends

I need to purchase an MCE remote for one of my friend have a Zotac Zeebox with inbuilt ir receiver. If I go to ebay there are like gazillions MCE remote from 500 a piece to 7K 8K. I need to know which one will work properly with XBMC installed on ZeeBox. Since there are so many options I am kinda confused which one to go for that will have a full compatibility with XBMC on Zotac or PC as well

Budget is like 1000-1200 ....

Please pore in your suggestions .....

MCE Remotes are not readily available in India. Remotes like this and this are not real mce remotes, they axt like a keyboard and mouse. The problem with these remotes is that we cannot change the button commands easily. Also, they sometimes result in sticky keys. Real MCE Remotes technically known as RC6 remotes can be easily configured using registry hacks. HP has good mce remotes. I owned this one New HP MCE Remote Control USB IR Receiver IR Emitter | eBay. It is very compact. This is another hp remote. These have ir receiver and repeater so it can be used even if the built-in ir is not mce compatible. If the inbuilt IR receiver is mce compatible then you can use any remote control with the help of eventghost. So buy mce remote after testing the zbox with eventghost and tv/bdp/ stb remote.

Testing is not possible as the box is not in delhi, He just asked my help to buy a remote that will work out of the box and he will order the same ......and I had no answer as I have never used one. I always have been using Android XBMC remote, which works perfect.

So this HP remote the 14 USD one, without configuring, just out of the box ....will it work .... basic navigation..... move the menu right left and select the move to play and all ....
for more detailed navigation I can ask him to use his phone ..... what do you say ..?

I have an old original microsoft remote which I am not using. I am still using the IR receiver though. If you need just the remote, pm me your address and I will send it for free :) (shipping at your expense).

PS: Its almost seven years old and shows its age. If you need new, I would suggest to go for logitech universal remote which supports MCE.

PPS: Looks like the pics are lost :(
