WAO! That's a Quick Turn Around :clapping:
Thanks a Ton, Denom.

I will get in touch with the address that you've provided.

Best Regards
Pramod.

If its OK to ask here, how much it would cost me (approximate estimation would be fine)

Regards
Pramod.

Your most welcome. Reg price, pls get in touch with Ali, as not sure what would be current price of the stands. It would not be fair to speculate pricing on an open forum as ours, hope you understand/ Thanks.

Finally.. after a long wait.. the Merlin TSM BME's and new stands are home.

Looking forward to connecting them up.

Advance bookings open now for orders from FM's ;)

Mr. Palkovich has delivered a stellar set of speakers, which includes idiot{logistics}/prying customs & other handlers proof packing. Full marks to him for paying such attention to detail :clapping:

Am sure some ears of the desi kind will be reading with keen interest :p

Put down that keyboard at once ...and do it! :D

thad,

:lol::lol:

got the stands and have to sand fill them and then i realised i had not collected the grub screw at the bottom of the stands ( to stop the sand from falling out !! ). :o

Luckily i was going slow on things and observed it.

I will have them on Monday.

But from tomorrow ( yes.. sunday afternoon.. i travel on work and wont be home till wednesday ) so i thought of keeping things on hold till i get a peaceful day at home and fire it up.

BTW, i feel a sense of anti-climax.. in the sense that till about 3 days back i used to check the fedex website on a bi-hourly basis for tracking info and now that its here.. somehow the excitement seems to have vanished.

maybe it will re-appear once i connect the music.. maybe i am deep down feeling guilty of spending so much money.. maybe the effort in getting this here and thru my cousin who got me a good deal with fedex is weighing me down..

Maybe my middle class upbringing is be-rating me somewhere..

My son is happy with his new water-bottle for school and here i am looking at this mighty expensive speaker.

What say ??

hopefully it will be a long innings with the Merlin.

I dont regret it but there are these multitude of things running in my head.

maybe i need a few beers with friends :D

my threads will not be strictly audio grade but my thoughts will be in it as i think folks reading the threads i started would also like to read my state of mind ( atleast in this field ) - a semi-blog - if you like.

magma,

the stands are looking good.

simple, elegant, heavy and i think they will do the job just fine.

Thank you.

Should be fun as usual

Yippee. Vada beer party going to happen soon

:yahoo::clapping::yahoo::lol::p;):)

Wish there was a vada smiley to go with this

:D

probably also the comparison to your earlier EOPS M12i.

Regards

yes - Naim CD5xs + Naim Nait 5i

with Epos M12i - will be a very unfair comparison simply considering the price points.

will not get into any comparo mode.. just want to enjoy the music and leave it at that.

dont worry..as a past owner these are amazing speakers for the price and are true keepers . They can work till amps 3 times the price of the speaker and hold its own.
at some level i do miss mine..they made a glorious match with the Leben

thanks arj.

the tipping point for me in that days audition of the merlin tsm mme ( shahrukh's ) was the was the speaker was able to follow the tune and rather faithfully at that.. ( and it means that while good is good.. bad can be bad ).. of a couple of hindi vinyl tracks we played in the end.

Congrats Mahesh,

wish you (y)ears of joy. if a speaker can cure upgraditis, it is a special piece of equipment indeed!

Pity I will not have the privilege of an audition as I finally depart en famille tonight.

but hopefully, when I'm back to pack, your system will be fully set up.

enjoy the music!

thanks kapvin.

wish you good luck !

would love to have you home whenever you return. Just PM me a few days ahead so i can keep myself available.

I plan to put up some pics maybe next week.

do take a look.

and thanks for having me over to your place last week. Was a good learning experience for me.

take care.

hi,

just unwrapped the speakers and i thought i would post some pice.

a. the tweeter is protected from transit damage - this is an arrangement i see for the first time
b. the copper tuning rods in the bottom
c. The grill is well made
d. The binding posts in the rear
e. The Master RC networks and the wooden alignment tool
f. The tweeter has "eyes " :)

little hands make light work :clapping:

thank you kids :)

filled sand and closed with some blu tack.. all aboard !! :D

used dry silica sand - source magma.

tip : as you fill the sand into the columns ensure :-

a. the bottom of the column is closed with a grub screw

b. be wary of air pockets which give you a false impression of the stands being filled to the brim. Use something to poke the sand with and you will find you need some more sand until it finally fills up.
