Movies with phenomenal themes / background score

Hi FMs

Being a movie and music buff, just had a thought to share and gather inputs from you guys about the movies which has phenomenal background scores...

The first name that strikes me is maybe the best background score / theme ever, it's "The Good, The Bad and The Ugly"

then any westerns which had Ennio Morricone's music for that matter.

then :

2. Terminator 2

3. DON (The 1978 one, Kanyanji - Anandji Rocked in that)

4. Agneepath (although it's straight lift from Jean Michelle Jarre's second
Rendezvous, but it just blends so well with MR Amithabh Bachchan's gray
character.

5. Sholay (It's Pancham score afterall and that too STEREO)

In fact many more but would love to know and explore your choices FMs

and how can we forget the opening title of Shaan and the background score of the original Don.

The Dark Knight has some fantastic background score.

The Godfather is fantastic. Background score in the opening scene is classic, i love the background score in Connie's wedding too - wonderful. So are the background scores when Michael goes to Sicily.
The Kannada movie "Manasa Sarovara" has great background score too. Not just background score, but the way the landscapes in the background change to reflect the pace of the movie is just out of this world. But then that is the case with all Puttanna Kanagal movies. Kamal Hassan once confessed how they'd all be asked by K Balachander to travel to Bangalore because a Puttanna Kanagal movie had released. The maestro is a case study ....

after listening or watching the movie..it feels like neil diamond was seagull in last birth..off course it gives goosebumps..so is movie..it is fantastic as your name suggest..

anyway i have koji kitaro XRCD with me..but there are other mind blowing

The works of Hans Zimmer, like The Dark Knight Rises, Inception are just awesome. I found some FLACs of the Batman series, and listening to them in the night is just awesome!

My Top favourite movie scores

Man of Steel
By far hands down the most amazing score work I have ever listened to. Everything subtle to over the top is meticulously composed and suited to on screen visuals by Mr. Hans 'Genius' Zimmer

The Bourne Trilogy
The score of this Matt Damon series defines the key element of the film- 'relentless non stop action' better than any movie of the genre ever made.

Spirit- Stallion of the cimarron
A bit tad underrated but wait til u hear the composer- Yes its Hans Zimmer again- the inception/dark knight/man of steel guy did one of his best ever electronic-analog fusion works in this animated movie and gave soul and life to the lead character - The horse - in much better way than its visuals for many of the outstandingly animated shots. Not to mention the Bryan adams songs (who doesent know the song 'Here I am' !!) are absolutely fitting and sheer bliss to listen to.

Titanic. The music is so powerful with so much low end content that it would fail most of the speakers and amps, especially amps.

Guys you've made my day. The sole idea was to share and get to know about my FMs choices about background scores and I'm ecstatic.

Clearly Hans Zimmer emerges as a guy with a lot of range and genres to float.

one of my favourite movie scores is the Bond thriller-THE LIVING DAYLIGHTS,perhaps JOHN BARRY's best.IMHO music is directly related to your soul,to each it is a different soul and a different tune.

As far soundtracks go I love the work of Trent Reznor (nine inch nails)... Loved him first in the OST of Natural Born Killers... Over the years he has only grown with OST of The Social Network & The Girl With The Dragon Tatoo (Speilberg's).

Pixar studio's - "Cars 1" is my favorite, even though almost their every movie is great.

Saving private ryan - superb background theme..
