what is the best way to hook up multiple connections on a step down transformer - which has only one output socket.

i had a receiver, cd player and a sub hooked up to a the standard multi plug (single plug with holes on three sides) hooked up to a step down and i think it blew a fuse because one of the metal pins had burned up.

i don't think the standard multi pin power strip kind of thing will work because that works only with 230 v.

i had once hooked up a usa monster multi pin to a step down (thinking it will work because it is also 110 v) but something blew inside.

appreciate any insights.

i hooked up a monster hts 400 (usa model) to the step down transformer and the sound has become noticably cleaner. there is greater detail and smoothness.

there is definitely some truth to the 'cleaner power' claims by monster.

but i do have one concern. the raksha stepdown is 50hz while the monster is the normal usa 60hz. some reading on net indicates that going to 50 to 60 hz should not really be a problem. i wonder though ...

Nandac, if a power strip can take 220v, why can it not take 110v? If you like Monster, Monster power strips are available in India.

Cheers

??? not sure what you are trying to say.

like any other appliance, powerstrips too designated with a specific voltage ( http://www.amazon.com/Monster-MP-HT...1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1332149205&sr=1-1 ) . i don't think a powerstrip of 230 volts can work on a 230v to 110v step down. you would need a 110 v strip for that.

i checked and you can get 110 v monster strips on ebay.in.
