Hi all,
Screenshots in the link below.
Sorry for the delay, I was busy moving into the new home. Lots of unfinished things.. wall mounting done last week, the HDMI cable broken etc.. it's all fine now.
I read reviews for more than a month, auditioned a lot of TVs.. did the Plasma vs LCD thingy etc.. I know it sounds cliched but we just have to buy what's pleasing to our eyes..
I chose LG 47 LD650 because it clearly showed more detail than the Sammy LCD (and the Sony was slightly over my budget.. the 46EX400 is not too great either.. ).. and I wanted a large screen.
I took some BDs and played them and did a comparison between the two (for maybe like 3 hours or so) and to me the LG showed more 'detail' than the Sammy.. Agreed it's black levels aren't too great... but I'm satisfied with it overall.
I still haven't calibrated my TV yet.. I have posted pics of my setup below. It's OK for DVD also. Did not hookup SD yet, so I don't know how it will look like.
Thoughts, comments welcome.. what you see in the picture are the TV, the Opp BDP-83 with analog out to the Onkyo TR-608 which is like 4 years old.
