My Experience With SMSL SA-160

I am happy to report that I received a replacement main-board from the vendor of SMSL SA-160 this afternoon. After replacing the main-board and testing the amplifier with different sets of speakers, I found the amplifier to be very silent. The high-frequency background whine is now gone. Just to be on safe side, I am running the amplifier with a 24V 6A adapter only, and not with the 36V 5.7A it was supplied with.

Good to hear that your T-Amp is working now. I have an OT question. I have an SMSL product too. The Sanskrit 6 Dac. It worked very well for 5 months but then stopped working. I contacted Shenzen and told them of the issue. They said that i can be fixed at their factory.

I checked the courier rates for sending back the Dac to Shenzen but the rates are very high. Like INR 2.5K! Thats more than 30% of the price i paid for it.

How did you convince them to send you a board instead of shipping back to them? Is there any procedure you followed?

Thanks
