My HT Journey so far and counting

Baby steps towards separates. Got a BassxA3 for LCR. Using the Bassx7 for surrounds and heights. At current inflated prices no interest to invest in a processor. Will stick with 4500 till it goes kaput.

How is A3 compared to A7 for Overall LCR performance?
They are similar in performance. If u check the transformer and other components in the amp they are literally the same. I use 9 channels. Previously had the A7 hooked with the LCR, surrounds and front heights. So full load to the A7. Now I have A3 connected to LCR and A7 connected to the remaining 6 channels. Only difference I notice is that dynamics and separations sound more clean. May be due to the additional head room and less load. Over all a good addition and I am extremely satisfied. Should be a good choice to pair with less power hungry speakers in a small room.
Do let us know how it compares to other Ported subs u owned-LV12,Xtz 12.17
Xtz 12.17, LV12F had similar characteristics in the low end slam and rumbles. LV12F clearly was more articulate and had better texture in bass. I heard many bass notes in the mid region that I couldn’t hear with xtz12.17.Fvx12 trumps both but LV12F is close and keeps up with the fvx12. Still bass is crap in my room due to SBIR and other room issues. No sub is going to solve it :( Many movies I feel like watching without a sub even with dual rythmiks :D

So got my 2nd fvx12 delivered last week and had a good father daughter bonding session with helping to unpack the sub. Placed next to the recliner.

This ain't gonna do it. You need a wooden platform and a suspended ceiling at the very least. Considering the gear you have, you're gonna be surprised at how frugal it is vis-a-vis the gains - less than a single FVX12. The limitations of a small room will still manifest itself but to a lesser extent.

Wow...the room's changed a lot since I last saw your older pics. You've definitely stuffed it to the gills 🤣. And kudos to your better halve for letting you get away with it too :p.

I think its been a few years since we both spoke about traps. I had a re-think recently, and re-considered what space I could give up for more bass trapping. As I want to go bigger with the speakers. And the idea of the ceiling came up. I presently have a false ceiling that is usual in our Desi homes. And I plan on getting it redesigned to leave a cavity in the center, exactly 8 feet and 6 inches wide x 8 feet and 6 inches long , to lay bass traps along that length. Below is a pic I saw from the net for inspiration. And as per my previous experience, I will again be going pretty deep with the bass traps, atleast a foot deep. I cant go that deep on the side walls, without it looking ridiculous, hence the idea of the ceiling. Maybe you can consider this too, to even out the bass more. That is, if you've spared the ceilings thus far 🤣

Wow man....this is one hell of an incredible journey! Kudos to your dedication and consistency!!
I see the acoustic panels creeping in more and more, why haven't you considered insulating your whole room, like they do in a dedicated room?
Interested to know how does your set up looks like now.
Thanks :) Room is the same you see here and only one change is I sold the recliner and got a recliner bed

Yeah true and I gave up on my room and never took any attempt to improve. Got used to how it sounds. Yes very disappointed that couldn’t even achieve a decent performance but with life getting busy with work and family I have just enough time to enjoy the content rather then wasting time worrying why its sounds bad

Yeah been a year and we spoke exactly at the time when I was planning to do these panels and bass traps
If that's Crap, we're living with Scrap !!
Just discovered your posts, admire your sound passion. It seems your audio possessions have outgrown your home.
You are on a Super Sonic Journey.
Hahah thanks and indeed it’s outgrown my home. Now I am just enjoying watching movies or listening to music. Can’t do much for room issues especially the low bass
Thalaivar in different passion now @Love4sound 😁
hahah yeah but spending some quality time every week in HT to :)
That's lot of panels. Presume all disappear in dark
Yeah and room is pitch dark now and helps with visual experience. Video is one thing that’s 100% satisfying for me in my set up
