Folks,

While shopping around for Onkyo receivers I found another customer who says he has a NAD2400+NAD1000 combination. The peice is around 4+yrs old and the sale price he is quoting is Rs.22K.

I would like to know if this price is correct and if this combination is something worth buying.

Thanks in advance for all those who would reply to my querry.

If you share the contact info of seller, I will let you know. :D:lol:;)

If the condition of both pre-power are maintained mint , the price seem to be decent.

@Kittu,

Still looking for the 2400 THX?? :D

Iam subjecting mine to an experiment.

Since the 2400 has individual volume control (!!), Iam planning to attach this to the biamp my speakers when they come home (MA Silvers).

The midrange + tweeter will receive direct musichall sigmal and bass drivers will get the NAD power (connected via pre out of the musichall). The bass can be individually controlled via the volume control of the power amp.

If this fails to impress, the amp will go to a new owner with NAD preamp. :)

If the condition is really good and you have a proper pre , you dont need a remote. Is it mk1 or mk11 ..MkII comes with heat sink in the front.

Front facia was smooth with only one on/off button. Not like the one pictured.
Its a 5 channel amp.

Damn you guys, how come all good hifi deals are in the south. NCR SUCKS!

I have a 2400 THX power amp which I will be putting up for sale. Lazy to take fotos and stuff. :ohyeah:

This amp makes the already bassy C405 more bassy. It also changes the sound signature of my musichall amp to become more bassy. Hence will go for sale.

The reason good deals are happening in the south is because singapore is closer. ;)

This is sold before I opened a for-sale thread. No more PMs.

@Kittu,
According to the new owner, it sounds slightly better than NAD 325 when directly connected to PC sound card.
When connected to the pre-out of NAD325 - It sounds better than directly connecting.

So, assuming a dedicated pre will sound much better than the NAD 325's built in pre, this combo is good VFM.

But will only help if you have low powered NAD amp or a NAD pre-amp and want to improve the wattage.

It is not 'transparent', meaning, if you connect it to other amps/preamps, the outcome is undefined. In my setup, it ate up quite a bit of details and increased the bass - sounding like NAD.
