Looking to buy a 55" tv for living room, currently using 32" LED bravia bought 7 years ago and its still doing a decent job, have a budget of 60k.
OTT content will be played 90% times and living room is decently lit. I need Dolby vision/HDR and will be going for a proper ht setup for Atmos in future. I am confused by so many offerings and have shortlisted some model, Please help me finalise.

Sir please check LG nanocel series nanocell 86, & 91

they are great models but they are out of budget. I am more inclined towards hisense U6g because of its 700nits qled panel with FALD. Need the best Picture quality in 60k. hoping that frame 2020 comes in 6XXXX. how is the service of hisense? this looks the best option to me right now.

With cashback U6g will land near 55k approx, QN90A 50" 1500 nits Miniled will land at 76k incl cashback on flipkart. 120hz and all bells and whistles included plus support levels of Samsung.

The deal seems too good to be true honestly. Any disadvantage we know of for the 50" model? To me it looks superior to the 55" as the 50" is VA.
It's true sir, I checked specs again last night with Samsung Cust support. They haven't compromised with 50" like last years and it's a fast seller. Corporate discount was always at this level but no cash backs, this one is better than frame 55 imho at least to start with. Unfortunately no one here has purchased it to confirm 50 is a VA. I'm trying to go to stores to check it if it's available and how's the perf. Peace of mind is more imp and it's a miniled va then nothing beats it. Ots lite and lesser dimming zones than 55 is the evident minus. And the proverbial lack of dolby vision that shdnt matter at such brightness and pq.

The 50" in all regions is a VA panel. I'm not sure whether it will be better than the Frame or not honestly as we have no idea how this panel behaves. It's not the same panel as the VA on 55" and above.

We have no idea how bright this one is either.

Please recheck the refresh rate. 50 incher may have 60 Hz panel.

No, QN90A 50" has 120Hz panel. You can check on Samsung website itself.

The only downgrades seem to be speaker (40W vs 60W on 55"), dimming zones (448 vs 532) and brightness (1500 vs 2000 nits).

However, the 50" is VA which will more than compensate for the above. This might be the TV to get under 1 lakh.

If one forgets dolby vision this indeed is the TV to get by all means. A flagship at this price is brilliant vfm.

Actually it's ADS. In QN90A series and above only the panels that are marketed as Ultra Viewing angle are VA panel while Wide Viewing Angle are ADS. In samsung India site you can see for all the qn90a sizes except 85" it's mentioned as Wide Viewing angle. So atleast according to their website it's ADS panel and knowing how shady Samsung is with their marketting I don't think it's VA. Also there are some owners in reddit and rtings who claimed that it's ads panel.

50" is VA with no film
55", 65" and 75" are IPS/ADS
85" is VA with Ultra-wide viewing angle film

There is no 50" IPS panel in production. Only 49" IPS panels exist. Here's the whole rtings thread discussing that:

Rtings initially said it's an ADS panel, but later took back that statement.

Also here's the list of all variants with their panel types and suppliers

My bad. Then it's a relief. It could be a great gaming monitor. My sister is looking for 55" bedroom and 65/75" living room TV. For living room I convinced her for Mi Q1. Suggested Hisense h6g for 55", will suggest her to have a look at QN90a.
