Need a music only supercool/ super slim nas

I have a alix3d2 board running voyage linux and MPD. I tried hooking streamer II dac and a USB disk. However, it seems there is USB bandwidth issue so song stutters a lot.
I was advised to mount a remote share.
Can someone suggest me a similar NAS that is sufficient to stream music files. No hidef video required.
I need to put it inside a drawer in my office desk.

you will need to get two harddisks minimum then. Board has 4 SATA ports so no. of ports is not an issue. if you are looking for RAID5, get 3 hard disks. Freenas will handle RAID for you (software RAID).
