Need a suggestion for a TV at 40k

Hi Guys,

I came here to get some suggestions for a new TV I am planning to buy in a couple of days.

I need some suggestions/models, as I find TV jargon very confusing.

Here are some of the requirements:

Viewing Distance is 6-8 feet in living room. The kids like to go closer hence the wider range!

Looking to buy 40-42". Is this ok?

Full HD is preferred.

After Sales Service must be good.

Will be used for watching HD channels as well as Standard HD. We watch a lot of Sun TV, the occasional HD movie.

Must be Xbox/PS3/PS4 ready.

3D is optional. I dont think the budget is enough.

Above all image quality and good service are top priority.

Please suggest some models/companies. I am counting on some good suggestions.

Yes its a very new model. Delivery is set for next week.

MRP is 52.5k. I bought it for 45k from mumbai.

Hi Guys,

My LG 42LN5120 is going to take a longer time to deliver. The store has offered me to choose another TV for quicker delivery if needed.

Can you guys suggest a replacement TV? Apart from Samsung 43F4900 which is not Full HD.

Here is a short list I made.

Consider 7k discount at Croma over these prices. Also I get additional 2.5% discount. So my 52k LG TV cost me 45k with warranty extension.

LG 42LN5400 - 55k
LG 42LN5710 - 58k
LG 42LM3410 - 50k (3d LED TV)
LG 42LM6200 - 60k (3d LED TV)

Samsung UA40EH6030R (3d LED TV) - 53k

Do you suggest any of these over the Samsung 43F4900. I might have to stretch budget for some of them.

Try the Samsung f5 and f6 series. I am going to Vijay Sales for a demo. I'll check the prices for you.

Samsung has offer to get HDTV for Rs.15 & rest in 15 EMI,offer till 31th May,2013.

I looked at Sony W7 and Samsung f6100 side by side at Vijay Sales. Both 46". Found the Samsung to be better. It was approx 80,000. Am sure it can be purchased for a better bargain.

What I disliked about the Sony was lack of clarity and sharpness that Samsung had.

Added UA40F5100AR - 54k to the list of probables. Need to check it out in person.

That's not a competitive price. Spend a few thousands more and get the F5500 or F6100. Major differences between 5 and 6 series are motion rate and 3D.

I'll request best prices from Vijay Sales and Samsung stores I know.
