Need Good Microphone

Hi Guys,

I was looking for a Gud Microphone for Voice Recording for Videos, I dont no which brands to look or where to buy, Can anyone tell me good brands i can look in budget, and I want to know what are the types of microphone available in market, And want to know what is a shotgun microphone used for?
I requirement is not Musical just for voice over,

My budget is 5-8k

With a budget of around 6k, the best option would be the legendary SHURE SM 58 or you can go for the allrounder SM 57, these are the best VFM microphones ever.. Or you can also have a look at the Sennheiser e835 or e845 too..

oh yes and since you are in Bangalore, try out either Furtados or Reynolds where these are stocked..
