Hi!
I have finally decided to get off my lazy ass and make a dedicated home theater space in my basement. My basement is basically an empty hall, so I am putting a wooden partition in between the hall to make a closed dedicated home theater space. The wooden partition will be made using two wooden boards around 1 inch in thickness and they will have some hollow space between them, which can vary from 1/2 to 1 inch. All the other walls are normal POP walls. The flooring is Italian marble, which I plan to get fully carpeted. Now my questions are:
1. I am planning to get paneling done on all the walls and the partition using foam and leatherette. What foam/material should I use, and is quilting advisable?
2. Should I fill the empty space between the 2 wooden boards of the partition with anything?
3. I am planning to get carpeting done on the entire floor area. Any suggestions regarding this?
I have a separate budget for woodwork and carpeting. I don't want to to overspend on the paneling, and would want to keep the budget for the same as low as possible. FM's please help!
