Hi all,
This is my first post.I am a newbie in this field :o. Tried to educate myself by surfing through this site,it helped me a lot. I brought a 47" Sony W800a, wanted a home theater system for it, was thinking of buying Sony, then i stumbled across this site and thank god i did :yahoo: . now i wanted to go the avr way :).
My plan of action is first buy the avr then slowly build up the speaker system. My hall room area is 24ft*15ft,but divided into two parts so the actual listening area is 12ft*15ft. The listening area has a huge sofa, false ceiling and my 47" tv. Please suggest me a avr and speaker combination. My budget is split as avr +speakers= 35K+40K
i have been seeing Denon 1713, Yamaha v473.....
Thanks in advance...

plz reply guys....... i need help........ 77 views and no replies.. ???? what is this forum for then......

Check Hifimart for the range of speakers you could get within Rs. 40000. Extend your budget a little bit and build your HT slowly. For starters, get an AVR+a pair of bookshelves+subwoofer for 70K. Add center and surrounds later.

for 35k u will get denon, onkyo and yamaha...
it will be good if you travel to kolkata and demo a few cmbos..
then buy acording to ur taste..

one suggestion dont buy all speakers at aonce.
get a pair of bs first...
then slowly build ..
get centre..preferebaly front and centre from same line
get sub.....get cheap surrounds local made/cheap diy/used

harmonie audio, promises, profx, sks, digital acoustics...and there are 3 or 4 shops also..
its difficult in one day,u may stay in a hotel and make the demo for 2 days and then finalise..

any help needed mail me..

I was also new to this forum 2 weeks back
And have a similar setup like you have done a lot of research
You can buy marantz sr 5007 for 33k I got it for dubai
Denon 1713 is underpowered rather go for x1000 it will be around 33-35k in india
Generally you will get 10 percent discount on mrp
You have to decide on the front speakers whether you want bookshelves or tower
You can get an entry level towers in your budget or decent level bookshelves
Are you also looking for surround and sub in this budget?

I am planing a trip to kolkata nxt week, and yeah i will be staying there for couple of days and check the combos. What do you mean by "bs" srry for this silly question :o .....
I kind of likked the features of denon x2000 what u think about it, plz through some light. Another thing video upscaling feature was mentioned there, does that mean it can upscale any normal airtel digital channel to HD quality.....

Makes sense for you to travel to Kolkata and listen to as many combinations as possible. Try Vasu from Harmonie audio; he is known to be a great gent to deal with, and will be able to guide you properly within your budget.

Best,

You can stay for few days and comfortably do the demo. But Promises, Harmonie Audio, Profx, SKS, watt effects, AV Square, Sonodyne at south city mall are all located in south Calcutta and within a distance of 2-3 kms from each other and can be covered within a day if properly planned.

In fact I have walked to all these places from my house. :yahoo:
