Need help regarding Sharp LC 40L500M

The salesman is trying to make a sale. Under the circumstances he will even try and tell you that this particular model is better than a Pioneer KURO.
Ultimately it's up to you. If you are really mesmerized by the PQ and features of this TV then by all means go for it. But make sure that servicing and availability of spares will not be a problem.

Hi, did you check out the model LC-40L550M ? Looks like a good deal as it has x.v. color ... a technology that can produce 1.8 times more color than normal TV. Plus USB Port too. LC-40L500M has neither of the two. I don't know if there could be a problem with Sharp AQUOS LCDs, but i have read on websites about LG LCD TVs giving problems. BTW, I saw a model LC-32L400M in Reliance Digital recently. Priced at 28K, it had superb video clarity and it looked better compared to LG, Sansui, Samsung and Panasonic LCDs. The salesman told me the quality and lifetime of Sharp is the same as Samsung or SONY. So i dont think ASS is so important though.

So salesman put all these pannels for scientific testing and then decide?How he define lifetime?
I mean reliance digital is 3-4 year old company..so from when this super salesman conducting these expereinces??
BTW I have very bad expereince of Reliance Digital sales guys..On guy was not knowing there is something called DTS-HD MA ( he told "sub AVRs may DTS hain) other quoted price of Apple airport express is 14 K ( Official price on website 6.5 k)
So this guy from his earlier job checking pannel life? Great....!!! Which shop??

Mr. Waghe, FYI it was me who enquired about SHARP since it's not to be found in many stores : not that the salesguy promoted AQUOS on his own. The salesman didn't favor any brand .... he just said all brands like SONY, LG, Sharp and Panasonic were good in quality .... his reaction about SHARP was neutral and he said it's a good TV as it's a Japanese brand. Well, mostly salesmen support only one brand don't they ? But he didn't. eZone and Reliance Digital are the only 2 outlets keeping stock of SHARP.
It's wrong to expect salesguys to know ins and outs of high end audio. I have seen worse salesguys who thought Dolby Digital and dts are the same ! How would they know about dts-HD ? Well, the outlet i visited is the newly started branch in JP Nagar, Bangalore.

I have Sharp Aquos LC-32A53M, 2008 model with 100Hz motion, (bought in Singapore for around Rs. 30K, when Indian MRP is Rs. 60K). I am extremely happy with the quality. For me, the picture quality today looks as good as my V20; there is no noticeable difference between the two except watching from sides.
And Sharp is one of the original manufacturers of the LCDs like Samsung and LG. Nonetheless, like many people suggested ASS (I hope it is After Sales Service) can be a problem as they have less market. I never contacted them, as my TV is doing good.
Also note that the 40L500M doesn't seem to be a 100Hz model.

AQUOS is an original LCD TV. Viera V20S (it's Singapore counterpart) is the highest scoring 2010 TV model in Asia on CNET Asia Website.
How well does AQUOS perform wrt contrast, color and sharpness? Did you face any banding issues on your AQUOS ?
SHARP is one of the best Consumer Electronic brands in the world : they are original and don't copy concepts from others. Proof : SHARP invented the LCD TV after 25 years of research investing sweat and toil. Quattron (RGBY colour) is a great feat by SHARP again. I think LG makes it's own LCD TVs but not panels .... am i right ?
