I have 2 Klipsch Heritage 2.1 systems and a Sound Blaster Z sound card. I want both 2.1 systems to get the full power but it seems like the rear channel jack is not giving as much juice as the front channel jack is (maybe b/c it's meant to power a 2.1 and rear up to 2.0?), the rear 2.1 system is much quieter and the sub does not hit nearly as hard.

My question is how to resolve the issue and get full power to both systems? Is there a soundcard that would support 4.2?

Looking for any guidance, thanks!

To resolve the issue and get full power to both of your 2.1 systems, you need to ensure that both channels receive enough signal. The rear channel jack on your Sound Blaster Z likely isn’t delivering enough power for a full 2.1 setup, as it’s primarily designed for stereo or surround setups with smaller speakers. One solution is to use an external amplifier to boost the power to your rear 2.1 system. Alternatively, you could upgrade to a sound card that supports multi-channel outputs, such as a 5.1 sound card, which would give you better power distribution for multiple systems. Unfortunately, there isn't a sound card designed specifically for a 4.2 setup, so either using a splitter, external amp, or multi-channel card would be the best option.

@nitroxide You are mistaken about how the rear channel output on your sound card works. It is meant for rear surround speakers and not for the front 2.1 output. @xewecan has already given you a solution. You need to connect the inputs for your klipsch speakers in parallel by using splitters.

For excellent sound that won't break the bank, the 5 Star Award Winning Wharfedale Diamond 12.1 Bookshelf Speakers is the one to consider!
